Jenna said, “Hamza had a son, Ali bin Hamza, grandson of the late Osama bin Laden. Your objective is to find the boy, aged 14, in a hideout somewhere in the Kandahar mountain range. Mine is to undo the brainwashing of what is evidently an Islamic-inspired puppet. The Afghans are a tribal people. Taliban, al-Qaeda, al-Sha-bab, and Daesh AKA Isis, are prone to fall apart if they have no strong leader to unit them. Osama did that successfully. The Lion Sheik inspired the tribes and all their individual factions. He brought them together in a com-mon cause. When Hamza, his son, was killed, he was on the brink of doing what his father had done. He left a large void for his own son, Ali to fill.
“Analysts who have long studied tribal warfare have determined that all it would take is a small spark to start an amazingly destructive fire storm. The name Lion of the Desert has already been whispered among the terrorist factions. All of them are just looking for and wait-ing for such a charismatic warlord to lead them. Many of them still miss the days of Osama.
“Evidently, my handlers have placed too much faith in me to have such miraculous results in my work as a de-programmer. Someone high up in the chain of command lamely believes that I can change the course of the War on Terror. In fact, they are giving me the chance of a lifetime to prove myself. If I can turn the boy away from fourteen-hundred years of radical teachings inspired by Allah who came a little after Jesus, I can save a lot of lives.”
Hoping her two capsules of Dramamine kicked in minutes after the Black Hawk lifted off and took them soaring over the moonlit desert beyond the Leatherneck compound, Jenna took a deep breath and tried to steady herself. She did not like copter rides. After watch-ing Black Hawk Down too many times, she had actually visited the General Dynamics plant located in her hometown of Lincoln to find out why there had been so many accidents involving the helicopter.
During her tour of the plant owned by Donald Rumsfield, she had asked specifics on the crashes that had taken place in the last year, when five Black Hawk crashes across the US had resulted in the deaths of 12 service members. All of these incidents took place on US soil, and did not include the five service members in the peacekeeping force who were killed when their Black Hawk crashed in Egypt.
Jenna settled back into her seat and closed her eyes, refusing to think about so many fatalities as the result of so many crashes. To take her mind off of the possibilities of catastrophes of flying hostile skies in the Black Hawk, she reached down and gave Razz, the shepherd a comforting pat on the head. The dog seemed unfazed by the helicopter ride as he looked eagerly to the open door no more than three feet away from them.
Bear’s voice crackled through Jenna’s headset: “Islam has been around for 1,400 years, started by Muhammad who centered his belief on only one of many pagan gods. No Muslim wants to accept that Allah was already being worshiped by Arab pagans before Muhammad came. Muslims become angry when they are confronted with this fact. But there is absolutely no question that Allah was worshiped by the pagan Arabs as one of many gods. Islam is the religion which Muhammad started in the seventh century. He founded a movement which today has as many as 300,000,000 followers. The old Arabian paganism was at that time in a process of disintegration. The way I heard it was, the mullahs had a god for each day, 365 in all, and in order for the Arabs to pray to these gods, they had to pay the mullahs. So, in order to replace these men of god and their ‘pay to pray’ scheme of greed, Muhammad combined elements of Judaeo-Christian faith with Arabian beliefs and started the religion. But how much of a God is Allah who made 128,000 failed prophets and then Muham-mad with a final message?”
Johnny DeBreeze, dog handler extra ordinaire, put in his own two cents as the Black Hawk flew low over the desert: “Chaz said just the other day that Jesus and Mohammad were Homies. Jesus who preached peace, love your enemies, and do unto others as you would have them do unto you? This Jesus? He was Homies with Mohammad, who wrote 134 commandments in the Quran to kill kafirs, infidels, and any who would not accept Allah as their god?
“I am not making any excuses for those self-righteous, arrogant Christians who have killed in His name. Any god who demands that you kill in His name should be put in check. Or his followers who kill unbelievers, lamely believing they are an extension of their god’s hands. Check and Mate. Whether you’re Muslim or Christian.
“Since when has Jesus inspired any believer to blow themselves up in his name? You just don’t see mindless time bombs out there, shouting, ‘Praise Jesus,’ and then driving over crowds with a truck, or spraying a crowd of people with red-hot lead, or blowing through a racing crowd with pressure cookers. No, Jesus never commanded his followers to try to change any unbeliever’s mind by killing them.
“The only thing Jesus and Mohammad had in common is, one claimed to be the son of God, the Jewish Messiah, the instrument of God’s forgiveness, while the other claimed to have a visit from the angel, Gabriel, who gave him the Quran word for word through this divine source. But on the other hand, Mohammad sure as hell inspired devoted Muslims to go off like human ticking time bombs, shouting, ‘Allah Akbar,’ while not even taking in consideration that there might even be other Muslims in the crowd. Are they so determined to kill in Allah’s name that they figure he’ll just sort out all the dead later? A mindless killing that honors their god, who demands total obedience or certain death?”
Although the Breeze was disagreeing with him on the matter of Jesus and Muhammad being brothers, Chaz responded, “I saw a ray of hope this morning in an article about the Islamic Terrorist killing in Istanbul. Turkish authorities were hunting for a lone gunman who opened fire on a New Year’s celebration early Sunday at one of Istanbul’s most popular nightclubs, killing dozens of people and wounding scores more in one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in the city. At least 39 people were killed and 70 people wounded, and citizens of five other countries were among the dead. Turkey’s top cleric condemned the shootings, saying such an attack would be just as heinous if it took place in a mosque. He said, ‘The targets of terrorists are not places but the people, the country, the nation, and humanity. Such an attack, no Muslim conscience can accept.’”
Seated across from the tall and lanky Chaz, the Breeze looked over at Jenna and asked, “Is this true? Are there really Moderates out there condemning these mindless killings? Are there really Moderates out there who know in their hearts that there needs to be a reformation of Islam? If so, I warmly embrace them. I’d stand beside them and support them in their cause to stop these death squads, single time bombs, and extreme terrorists. Hell, any Moderate Muslim who demanded that these jihadist killings should stop, they and I would definitely be Homies.”
